Digital x-ray provides many important diagnostics benefits. Computer-based image processing shows subtle details which cannot be identified from traditional x-ray images but play a very important role in the diagnostic process. Digital x-ray also enables precise measurements, e.g. in hip dysplasia, and calculations of crucial parameters for cruciate ligament reconstructions. Furthermore, exposure to radiation is much lower in x-ray imaging and the procedure is practically risk-free for the patient and staff.
